Northern Territory Forecast Issued at 4:30 pm CST on Tuesday 21 January 2020 for the period until midnight CST Saturday 25 January 2020. Warning Information For latest warnings go to www.bom.gov.au, subscribe to RSS feeds, call 1300 659 210* or listen for warnings on relevant TV and radio broadcasts. Weather Situation A surge in westerly winds across the Timor and Arafura Seas is bringing monsoonal rain, squally showers and thunderstorms to northern and western Top End for another couple of days as a low develops over the Gregory District. This low will move east along a trough just south of the Top End over the next couple of days before becoming slow moving over the Carpentaria District. This will see the potential for possible heavy falls over the central districts. Another trough approaching from WA will see showers and storms extend throughout on Wednesday before moving through the south on Thursday, causing the showers and storms to contract northwards.
