    Initial Minor Flood Warning For The Mersey River

    MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT KIMBERLEY OVERNIGHT FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY
     Moderate rainfall over the past couple days has caused river and creek level rises across the Mersey River catchment. Further rainfall is forecast during the overnight period before easing during Saturday.
    
    Mersey River - Liena to Kimberley:
    Minor flooding may occur along the Mersey River at Kimberley.
    The Mersey River at Kimberley is currently at 1.44 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
    The Mersey River at Kimberley may reach around the minor flood level (2.40 m) overnight Friday into Saturday. 
    
    Flood Safety Advice:
    Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
     Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
     Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
     Check the ABC and local media for updates. The situation can change quickly, so stay informed.
