    Minor Flood Warning For The Snowy River

    MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT MCKILLOPS BRIDGE, BASIN CREEK, JARRAHMOND AND ORBOST
     Minor flooding is occurring on the Snowy River at McKillops Bridge, D/S Basin Creek, Jarrahmond and Orbost.
     In the 24 hours to 9:00 am Monday, no significant rainfall was recorded in the Snowy River catchment. Storms and localised heavy rain is possible for monday, but no significant widespread rainfall is forecast.
    
    Snowy River to McKillops Bridge:
    Minor flooding is occurring along the Snowy River to McKillops Bridge.
    The Snowy River at McKillops Bridge is currently at 3.81 metres and falling, with minor flooding.
    The Snowy River at McKillops Bridge is expected to remain above the minor flood level (2.50 m) for the remainder of Monday into Tuesday.
    
    Snowy River downstream of McKillops Bridge:
    Minor flooding is occurring along the Snowy River downstream of McKillops Bridge.
    The Snowy River D/S Basin Ck peaked at 4.97 metres around 11:00 am Sunday 16 January and is currently at 4.59 metres and falling, with minor flooding.
    The Snowy River D/S Basin Ck is expected to remain above the minor flood level (3.50 m) for the remainder of Monday into Tuesday.
    
    The Snowy River at Jarrahmond is currently peaking around 5.08 metres, with minor flooding.
    The Snowy River at Jarrahmond is expected to remain above the minor flood level (4.10 m) for the remainder of Monday into Tuesday.
    
    The Snowy River at Orbost is currently peaking around 5.29 metres, with minor flooding.
    The Snowy River at Orbost is expected to remain above the minor flood level (4.20 m) for the remainder of Monday into Tuesday.
    
    Flood Safety Advice:
    SES advises that all community members should:
     Never walk, ride or drive through floodwater,
     Never allow children to play in floodwater,
     Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains during and after heavy rain,
     Keep well clear of fallen power lines
     Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks, and heavy rainfall increases the potential for landslides and debris across roads.}
