Weather Situation A high moving across southeastern Australia is directing drier air across much of the Territory, confining isolated showers and gusty thunderstorms to the northern and western Top End. The drier conditions, coupled with clear skies, are maintaining a severe to extreme heatwave across the Top End. Temperatures will also gradually increase in the south this week ahead of a trough that moves into southern NT during the middle of the week. A slightly cooler change will extend over the southern districts once the trough moves through.
