Initial Flood Warning For The De Grey River Catchment

MAJOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT MARBLE BAR
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT NULLAGINE AND TUMBINNA POOL
Isolated heavy rainfall overnight has caused rapid river level rises along the Nullagine and Coongan Rivers. Rainfall totals of up to 104 mm were recorded in the 12 hours to 4:00 am Tuesday in the De Grey River Catchment.
Showers and the chance of thunderstorms are forecast for the next few days.
Nullagine River:
River levels are elevated and minor flooding is occurring at Nullagine and Tumbinna Pool.
Coongan River:
River levels are elevated and major flooding is occurring at Marble Bar.
De Grey River:
Flooding is not expected along the De Grey River.
The De Grey River at Coolenar Pool is currently at 0.56 metres and steady.
The De Grey River at Coolenar Pool is expected to remain below the minor flood level (5.50 m) during Tuesday.
Flood Safety Advice:
DFES advises people and communities to be aware that flooding is possible and be prepared to relocate equipment and livestock. Watch water levels. Travellers need to be aware that road conditions may be adversely affected and travel plans may need to be reconsidered. Do not drive into water of unknown depth and velocity.}
