    Initial Minor Flood Warning For The Murray River Upstream Of Lake Hume

    MINOR FLOODING LIKELY AT JINGELLIC MONDAY AFTERNOON
     Minor flooding is likely to develop along the Upper Murray River at Jingellic from Monday afternoon.
     In the 24 hours to 9:00 am Monday, rainfall totals of 15-25 mm were recorded in the Upper Murray catchment, with highest total of 40 mm recorded at Hunters Hill. A further 5-10 mm of rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Monday.
    
    Murray River to Biggara:
    The Upper Murray at Biggara is below the minor flood level and steady.
    Murray River Biggara to Bringenbrong:
    No flooding is expected along the Murray River Biggara to Bringenbrong.
    The Murray River at Bringenbrong is currently at 1.92 metres and falling.
    The Murray River at Bringenbrong is expected to remain below the minor flood level (3.00 m) during Monday.
    
    Murray River Bringenbrong to Lake Hume:
    Minor flooding is likely along the Murray River Bringenbrong to Lake Hume.
    The Murray River at Jingellic is currently at 3.71 metres and steady.
    The Murray River at Jingellic is likely to exceed the minor flood level (4.00 m) Monday afternoon. The river level is likely to peak near 4.30 metres Tuesday morning.
    
    Flood Safety Advice:
    SES advises that all community members should:
     Never walk, ride or drive through floodwater,
     Never allow children to play in floodwater,
     Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains during and after heavy rain,
     Keep well clear of fallen power lines
     Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks, and heavy rainfall increases the potential for landslides and debris across roads.}
