FLOODWATERS FLOWING INTO KATI THANDA-LAKE EYRE
Along the Warburton River at Poothapoota Waterhole, river levels remain elevated and continue to fall slowly. Floodwaters from the Warburton River are reaching southern parts of Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre. Flow into Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre will continue for several weeks.
Along Cooper Creek at Walkers Crossing and Coongie Lakes, creek levels remain elevated and continue to fall slowly.
Floodwaters may cut roads and access tracks, and in particular river crossings, impacting travel in the region.
Warburton:
River levels remain elevated along the Waburton River at Poothapoota Waterhole, where the river level is currently around 5.12 metres and falling slowly.
Cooper Creek:
Creek levels remain elevated along the Cooper Creek at Cullyamurra Waterhole, where the creek level is currently at 3.88 metres and falling slowly. It is estimated that the water level at Innamincka is around 2.00 metres above the causeway.
