    A FLOOD PEAK OF AROUND 5.30 METRES IS LIKELY AT THALLON BRIDGE FRIDAY MORNING ABOVE LEVELS RECORDED IN MARCH 2022
     Flood waters are continuing to move through the catchment from heavy rainfall last week. A flood peak is currently between Nindigully and Thallon Bridge.
     Rainfall has eased and no significant rainfall has been recorded for the past few days. No further significant rainfall is forecast for the catchment area over the next few days.
    
    Moonie River to Flinton:
    Minor flooding is occurring along the Moonie River to Flinton.
    The Moonie River at Flinton was around 3.35 metres (minor flooding) and falling at 7:40 am Thursday morning.
    The Moonie River at Flinton is likely to fall below the minor flood level (3.00 m) overnight Thursday into Friday and continue easing slowly.
    
    Moonie River downstream of Flinton:
    Major flooding is occurring along the Moonie River downstream of Flinton.
    The Moonie River at Nindigully peaked at 3.87 metres around 03:25 pm Wednesday 18 May and is currently around 3.75 metres and falling.
    The Moonie River at Nindigully will remain above the moderate flood level (3.00 m) overnight Thursday into Friday and continue easing slowly over the next few days.
    
    The Moonie River at Thallon Bridge is currently at 5.07 metres and rising, with major flooding.
    The Moonie River at Thallon Bridge is likely to peak around 5.30 metres Friday morning, higher than the March 2022 peak (5.06 m).
