A monsoon trough and very moist easterly winds will bring heavy rain and storms to north Qld. Troughs are triggering showers and storms from inland WA to the NT, central/eastern Vic, eastern NSW & southeast Qld.

Tuesday 10:30 z

A trough near the Qld coast will maintain showers and storms over northeast Qld, with isolated intense falls. Showers and storms will persist across the northern tropics. Showers for eastern NSW and southeast Qld in a weakening trough. Intense heat in WA will spread to SA.

Wednesday 10:30 z

Onshore flow near the Qld coast will produce showers and storms over NE Qld. Showers and storms will persist across the northern tropics. A deepening WA and SA trough will cause heat to intensify in SA, Vic and western parts of Qld and NSW.

Thursday 10:30 z

Showers and storms persist for the northern tropics. Intense heat for WA with a thermal low and a broad trough. Intense heat will build over SA, NSW and Vic as the trough continues to extend east, which could also trigger the odd thunderstorm over eastern Vic and inland WA.

A coastal trough near northern Qld and monsoon trough brings showers and storms for the northern tropics and northern WA. A heat trough extending from WA to SA brings intense heat that extends into NSW and Vic.

A low near northern Qld and monsoon trough brings showers and storms for the northern tropics and northern WA. A heat trough extending from WA to SA and Vic brings intense heat that extends into NSW and Vic with showers and storms to inland WA.

Saturday 10:30 z

Monsoonal moisture will fuel heavy rain and thunderstorms over the northern Tropics, heaviest in the Top End and north Qld. Showers & storms will be isolated over northern WA with a trough. A cold front will bring gusty showers to southeast SA, Vic, southern NSW and Tas.
