Weather Situation A trough across the Tanami and Barkly Districts is combining with tropical moisture and will lead to an increase in showers and thunderstorms with possible heavy falls over parts of the Gregory, Tanami and western Barkly Districts. Hot to very hot conditions over the Carpentaria and eastern Barkly Districts will ease during the next day or two as cloud cover increases. Showers and thunderstorms will increase across the Top End during the week as a surge in monsoonal westerly winds develops across the Timor and Arafura Seas including the west and north coasts.
