Rain soaks Red Centre
Alice Springs received a month's worth of rain in the last two days as thick cloud blankets central Australia.
An injection of tropical moisture caused rain to spread across the Red Centre this week, with a flood watch in place for central and eastern inland areas of the NT on Friday.
Alice Springs registered 26mm of rain during the 24 hours to 9am on Friday, which is its heaviest rain in 14 months. This brought their two-day total to 34mm, which is more than the entire monthly average for March (31mm).
Jervois has nearly tripled their March average of 32mm this month, with 90mm hitting the gauge during the last two days.
Rain will ease over southern districts of the NT this weekend as the mass of cloud moves further west.
