Driest May in 55 years for Perth

Graeme Brittain, 1 June 2019

Western Australia's capital city has just registered its second-driest May on record.

Only 17.8mm was collected last month, which is less than 20% for the long term average (90.3mm).

Perth's observational data records go back to 1876.

Climate models are suggesting that the following three winter months are only a low chance of seeing above average rainfall.
