FINAL FLOOD WATCH FOR THE DERWENT RIVER
Issued at 9:44 am EST on Sunday 10 September 2017

By the Bureau of Meteorology, Hobart.

A flood watch for the Derwent River basin has been finalised.

In the 48 hours to 9am Sunday, rainfall totals of 5 to 25mm have been recorded
in the Derwent River catchment, with isolated higher totals up to 35mm. No
significant rainfall is expected for the remainder of Sunday.

Rainfall and snowmelt have caused some stream rises in the River Derwent and
tributaries. Flooding is no longer expected.

Strong and dangerous flows may be a hazard throughout the catchment for the
next few days.

Note: This Flood Watch is a "heads up" for possible future flooding and is NOT
a Flood Warning. The Bureau of Meteorology does not provide a flood warning
service for all of the catchments covered by this flood watch.
