Flood Warning for the lower Diamantina River

Issued at 11:19 am EST on Thursday 22 March 2018
Flood Warning Number: 19

River level rises are expected at Birdsville into the weekend.

No significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days.

Diamantina River to Diamantina Lakes:
Moderate flood levels are continuing to ease on the Diamantina River at
Diamantina Lakes, but remain around 2.4 metres above the level of the causeway
on the Springvale Diamantina Lakes Road.

Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes:
Minor flood levels are easing at Monkira. River level rises are occurring
further downstream along the Diamantina River to Birdsville.

No observations are currently available for the manual river gauge at
Birdsville, however, river level rises are expected into the weekend.
