Final Flood Warning for the Mulgrave and Russell Rivers

Flood Warning Number: 2
Strong river level rises have been observed in the Mulgrave and Russell Rivers
early Thursday morning, and are now steady or easing.
Since 9am Wednesday heavy rainfall totals of 100 to 250 mm have been recorded
in the catchment. Rainfall rates have eased during Thursday morning, with
around 5-10 mm of rainfall recorded in the catchment since 9am.
No further flooding is expected in the Mulgrave River.
The Mulgrave River at Peets Bridge peaked at 4.33 metres around 08:30 am
Thursday 19 October and is currently at 3.60 metres and falling. The Mulgrave
River at Peets Bridge is expected to remain below the minor flood level (5.00
m) during Thursday.
The Mulgrave River at Gordonvale peaked at 10.10 metres around 10:15 am
Thursday 19 October and is currently at 10.00 metres and falling. The Mulgrave
River at Gordonvale is expected to remain below the minor flood level (12.00 m)
River levels are high in the Russell River, remaining steady around the bridge
deck at Clyde Road. River levels are expected to ease this afternoon.
