Final Flood Warning for the Mulgrave and Russell Rivers
Issued at 8:04 am EST on Wednesday 7 February 2018
Flood Warning Number: 8
The Mulgrave River has eased below the minor flood level. Minor flood levels on
the Russell River are continuing to ease slowly at Clyde Rd. No further river
level rises are expected.
Since 9:00am Tuesday 15-55mm of rainfall was recorded. No significant rainfall
is forecast during Wednesday.
No further flooding is expected in the Mulgrave River.
The Mulgrave River at Peets Bridge peaked at 6.80 metres early Tuesday morning
and is currently at 3.60 metres and falling. River levels at Peets Bridge will
remain below the minor flood level (5.00 m) during Wednesday.
The Mulgrave River at Gordonvale peaked at 13.35 metres Tuesday morning and is
currently at 10.65 metres and falling. River levels at Gordonvale will remain
below the minor flood level (12.00 m) during Wednesday.
River levels on the Russell River have eased below minor at Bucklands. River
levels at Clyde Road have eased below the moderate flood level and are expected
to remain above the bridge level during Wednesday. A moderate flood peak was
recorded at Bucklands and Clyde Road during Tuesday.
