Another hot spell for Adelaide

Graeme Brittain, 18 February 2018

After a cooler interlude, temperatures are on the rise into next week for South Australia's capital city.

A hot airmass is set to impact much of the state over the next several days, which will continue the above average trend in temperatures seen so far this month.

Since the beginning of February, 10 out of the last 17 days have seen the mercury surpass the 30 degree mark, which is more than occurred over the whole of February 2017. At least 5 more days of temperatures rising above 30 degrees are forecast before the end of the month.

This weeks heat is unlikely to be accompanied by wall-to-wall sunshine, as the remnants of tropical cyclone Kelvin cause increasing amounts of cloud through the week.

The expected cloud cover, combined with a noticeable offshore breeze, will mean temperatures will struggle to drop much below the mid-20's from Tuesday.
