Weather Situation A high in the Tasman Sea directs a humid easterly flow across the central and northern parts of the Territory for another day or so before drier air makes its way into the Top End on the weekend, contracting showers to the northeast. A warm airmass remains over the northern half of the Territory with near record daytime temperatures, particularly over inland parts of the Top End. A weak cloud band has developed over the far southwest NT ahead of a mid level trough over WA. Temperatures also increasing in the south as the retreating high directs warmer northeasterly winds over southern parts of the Territory.
